WGRI Role Responsibilities For NEWS Representative

The NEWS representative and alternate representative will be appointed by the President of WGRI every two years after each NEWS Conference. NEWS representative may request a second term.
Representatives will:
Attend semiannual meetings of NEWS Trustees
Communicate key information at WGRI meetings regarding NEWS
Attend NEWS Conference and the NEWS Trustees meeting at NEWS
Represent WGRI preferences when guild job assignments are done at the first fall meeting after the previous conference.
Update WGRI on the NEWS website to NEWS Webmaster, such as WGRI information and contact information for NEWS representatives
Request WGRI President, each fall, sends an updated WGRI email listing of membership to NEWS Webmaster for dissemination of NEWSletter to members
Accept WGRI rotating job responsibilities such as show secretaries, NEWSLetter, samples, or Nominating Committee and ensure they are being addressed
WGRI representative is not automatically in charge of the assigned guild job for NEWS or the rotating guild job. In consultation with WGRI President, assignments for WGRI jobs for NEWS will be made.
WGRI representative will work with those assigned to ensure that the work is being done and any needed communication between the WGRI Board, NEWS Trustees and the WGRI Coordinator for the job occurs.
WGRI representative will work with the WGRI Treasurer to ensure the payment to NEWS is completed when it is due (NEWS sends a bill based on number of members every two years).
WGRI representative will work with the WGRI Treasurer to ensure the payment of $100.00 to NEWS is sent for the Bertha Gray Hayes Excellence in Overshot Award when it is due (prior to the NEWS meeting).
WGRI representative collects checks to give to WGRI Treasurer for entries to NEWS fashion and gallery shows. The WGRI Treasurer sends a check to NEWS for these entries.
