MASTER SEAMSTRESS MANON PELLETIER AND WEAVER INGE DAM
WIN SECOND PRIZE AT CONVERGENCE

WGRI member Manon Pelletier and Canadian master weaver and textile designer Inge Dam collaborated long distance to create this jacket.

HANDWOVEN YARDAGE BY INGE DAM:

Warp:  silk 30/2

Weft:  Mercerized cotton 20/2

Multishaft twill with card woven bands within warp

36″ wide by 4 yards and 24″ long

Jacket:

Modified Butterick jacket pattern.  Silk Charmeuse lining, piping, and Hong Kong seam finish.  In-seam buttonholes.  I found this pattern to be suitable with it’s various pattern pieces to highlight the fabric’s bands.
